Pakistan Railways Jobs 2026 – 74 Guard Gr-I Vacancies on Contract Basis Across Pakistan

Pakistan Railways has officially announced a new recruitment drive for the year 2026, inviting applications from eligible male citizens of Pakistan to fill 74 vacancies for the position of Guard Grade-I (BPS-14) on a purely contract basis. Age Limit & Relaxations
The general age limit for applicants is 18 to 25 years, with an additional 5 years of general age relaxation on the closing date of receipt of applications. Several categories are entitled to further age relaxations as follows:

  • Candidates from Scheduled Castes, Buddhist Community, Sindh Rural & Balochistan, recognized Tribal Areas, Azad Kashmir & Northern Areas: 3 years additional relaxation.
  • Ex-Servicemen: Age relaxation up to 15 years or the number of years served in the Armed Forces of Pakistan, whichever is less.
  • Government servants and contract employees with 2 years of continuous service: 10 years relaxation (up to age 55).
  • Child of deceased Civil Servant who died during service: 5 years additional relaxation.
  • If a candidate qualifies for more than one category of age relaxation, relaxation shall be allowed in only one category.

Quota Policy
The following quota will be observed for this recruitment:

  • 60% Open Merit
  • 5% quota fixed for Minorities/Non-Muslims
  • 5% quota fixed for Orphans (Death Certificate of father from NADRA is mandatory)
  • 10% quota fixed for Ex-Servicemen (Certificate is mandatory)
  • 20% quota for sons of Railway employees including 2% fixed for sons of Railway deceased employees (Railway Cards are mandatory)

Weightage for Selection
The selection process will be based on the following weightage: Written Test carries 70% of the total marks, while Interview accounts for the remaining 30%. Candidates must perform well in both stages to secure selection. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for the written test and interview, and no TA/DA will be admissible for either stage.
Important Instructions for Candidates
Departmental candidates must apply through proper channel with a No Objection Certificate (NOC). Applications with incorrect or false information will be summarily rejected. Only candidates who fulfill all eligibility criteria and fall within the jurisdiction of their respective divisions are eligible. Candidates to whom final transcripts have not been issued are not eligible to apply. Selected candidates will be required to pass a prescribed Medical Examination, be cleared by Security Agencies, and undergo specified training. If any document is found bogus at any stage, the appointment will be treated as cancelled.

Interested candidates must apply online through the National Job Portal at www.njp.gov.pk within 20 days of this advertisement’s publication in newspapers. A non-refundable processing fee of Rs. 1,000/- per application must be deposited at the C.C.T Cash Office in Lahore, or at any Station Master or Booking Office of Pakistan Railways. The Miscellaneous Receipt (M.R.) must be uploaded with each application. Applications submitted after the deadline will not be entertained under any circumstances.
